MCPE-35873 Crashes while opening application Duplicate

Comments

Due to an unrelated incident on my phone (I kept getting the same Emergency Wireless Alert notification on my Android 8.0.0 LG V30+ from back in August when I was near a flood zone) I ended up having to factory wipe my device to clear the alert since my carrier said the issue was on my phone.

I have installed MCPE since the factory wipe and it's working fine (with NO MUSIC) since that seemed to be the killer of this issue. I have lost all of my previous worlds and I'm having to start from scratch once again. 😞

But hey, on the upside version 1.7.0.5 is working without any issues. I don't plan on downloading the music again anytime soon.

The main problem for me is the fact that in my MCPE there is nothing to backup world wise...

For me if I go to my Root directory on my Android using File Manager (comes with my LG phone), Games, com.mojang, minecraftWorlds, I have an empty directory (it is also set so show me hidden files, but nothing is there) so I'm afraid to uninstall & reinstall in fear of losing everything 😞

  • Installed the latest beta.... MCPE 1.7.0.5 ... & it's still not working. I get the white MC logo & then it crashes still. 😞 👎

Using: Android 8.0.0 and running it on a LG V30+

  • Installed the latest beta.... MCPE 1.7.0.3 ... & it's still not working. I get the white MC logo & then it crashes still. 😞

  • I've got MCPE 1.7.0.2 installed... & it's still not working. I get the white MC logo & then it crashes still. :\

  • Using Android 8.0.0 with a LG V30+

Well after testing the Beta version on my Android 👎

  • Confirmed that the issue is still happening with MCPE version 1.6.0.30 installed on my LG V30+ running Android Version 8.0.0 😞

Not quite "Fixed" as Scott previously mentioned.

This is the Android Beta Link for all of those who went looking for it as well as I and could not locate it... https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mojang.minecraftpe

. . . & can we download it from the Google Play Store / iOS? (That's my point is that we're going to have to wait if it's still in Beta) unless you have some other means to be able to share this Beta version that seems to be the one that fixes a rather big issue for all of the users affected that have reported it in this documented bug chain.

I'm waiting for version "1.6.0.30" to roll out into the Google Play store that Scott mentioned above. Apparently this fixes the issue... my question is how many times am I going to have to update my current version before it's working again. ⚠️

I'm currently running MCPE v1.5.3.0 & it sounds like I have quite a wait to go . . . 😞

We'll see about that 😉 - I can't wait to get back on, it's been about a month. 😞

I thought that may be the way we'd have to go eventually... I've got about 48+ hours on my Worlds that my kiddos and I have built with their Mom and I'd hate to have to blow it all away.... but it sounds like we may need to bite the bullet as well 😞

We learned a lot which should make things go a lot faster this time around if we need to start from scratch. :\

Zachary I think you are onto something...
I really don't want to have to uninstall & reinstall the entire MCPE game. I've got some worlds I'd love to keep, but even under /game/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds there are no files 😞

Does anyone know if there is anyway to manually uninstall the MineCraft Music if it was previously installed as a way to test this theory out?

So If I click the big "GET THIS ITEM" which links to (https://marketplace.minecraft.net/en-us/pdp?title=purebdcraft) it attempts to open my MCPE but just like before crashes after the white Minecraft logo, and again no error.

If I follow the link for mobile, and choose Android... I'm back at this page on the Google Store which allows me to "open the app" but then continues to crash.

As reported on the 25th of July:

I'm using an LG V30+ (Model Number: LG-LS998, * *Software Version: LS99821a) on Android 8.0.0 (Security patch level May 1, 2018) Kernel Version 4.4.78, Security Software Version MDF v3.1 Release 2.

I've been using my purchased app of Minecraft Pocket Edition (MCPE) which was working great prior to the 1.5.0.14 version that was updated via the Google Play store on July 10th, 2018. Obviously I have since rebooted it several times, this phone is solid... meaning I am unable to remove a battery.

Currently I launch the game, it states the name MINECRAFT logo with a white background, it then acts like it's going to the next screen, and then the app closes with no error displayed. It's acting like an app crash that for some reason cannot handle the next loading screen which would be simply the main menu. I personally have downloaded the Minecraft Music prior to the v1.5.0.14 so I could play music in the game. Not sure if this is related or causing additional issues as well.

I do have a file manager app on my LG V30+ that will allow me to view the internal storage and I can see in the root there is a games folder. Within it there is a com.mojang and from within there I have additional folders (attached to screenshot) but I'm not sure if there is anything relevant to help with determining the lingering issue of not being able to open it. I have opened the logs folder, but there are no files.

I'd love to uninstall the game & perform a re-install, but I have local game data I'd love to save that I've spent hours creating with my family.

**UPDATE 1:* *I have recently updated my MCPE as there was an update released in the Google Play Store *(*on July 20th, 2018) for version 1.5.1.2 but there again is still no change. We still have the White Background, Minecraft Logo and then the app crashes with no error. 😞

**UPDATE 2:* *I again have recently updated my MCPE as there again was an update released in the Google Play Store *(*on July 24th, 2018) for version 1.5.2.1 but there again is still no change. We still have the White Background, Minecraft Logo and then the app crashes with no error. 😞

**UPDATE 3:* I had my Wife check her version and she has the most current version install like I (version 1.5.1.2) however unlike I, she CAN open her Minecraft Pocket Edition. We have the exact some make & model phones but the only difference that I know of is that I had downloaded the Minecraft Music pack from within the MC store where as I know she has not. Other then that, we have everything game wise exactly the same running on our Androids.

Sounds very similar to my Android running 8.0.0 with my LG V30+
