Hey Johan, I have been experiencing the same problems on my iPod. I used to own an iPod touch 4G, and now I own the 5G. Both were running iOS 6.1.2, with Minecraft PE 0.5.0 - 0.6.1 and yet at the different times of owning them, they still had the same problem. Currently with my iPod 5G I have to turn it on airplane mode and then load the map, then switch it back on, just to play. Over wifi or just by muself.
The strange part is, it's only my home wifi. At my friends house it would connect and run very nicely. I even recently got my wifi router updated to a very nice one with great Internet speeds.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but its been bugging me for a while. Even my mom and brothers iPods are doing the same thing. All on our home wifi. If this could be fixed, that would be really nice. Thanks!
