I am noticing this in 1.8pre1 and 1.8pre2 in comparison to 1.7 stable.
Desktop specs:
Intel Core 15 4760 @ 4.1Ghz
8GB RAM
NVidia 750 w/ 2GB VRAM
Fullscreen res of 1920x1080
I also have a 2nd screen, although MC does not display on it.
