What is the current status on a fix for this? This bug has been open for over a year now and seriously hinders the BDS experience.
I'm running into the issue on a server that should be well overpowered for BDS. Running Ubuntu 20 on a 3.5Ghz Intel Xeon processor, 4GB of memory, SSD, and 10Gbps network bandwidth. No mods are installed. Chunks load in extremely slowly, riding minecarts is horribly laggy, and mobs in the nether constantly freeze. If anybody goes exploring new areas it brings the server too its knees. I've attached a graph that shows the per-cpu usage with only 2 people on the server building in already explored areas. Each cpu core runs at around 20-50% but then has random 100% spikes. As you can imagine it gets much worse with more than 2 people.
