I just tried 1.18 and 1.18.1 and I'm still having this same issue. I've been avoiding it by playing on my older MacBook Pro, but there's another issue there right now where the game keeps crashing.
I know I've read somewhere that it might be an issue with java not being fully compatible with macOS, but I can't remember where I saw this.
So I didn't had this issue on my Macbook Pro (mid-2012) running OS X 10.11.6, but I do have this issue on my MacBook Pro (mid-2015) now running macOS 11.4 (I'm thinking about updating to macOS 12.1 soon). I'm not sure what OS version I was on when this issue started.
