Sorry, got a bit crazy with the snow and no internet, I can confirm chickens "dying as intended". Thanks for the fix.

It is a quick tick pulse on the dispenser... The lava doesn't stay long enough to be knocked back into it. As soon as the dispenser pulses the chicken is dying.
