Outdated server means both devices are not on the same update. Update to the same version to fix outdated server and check WiFi
It was only created for mobile and Nintendo, no windows got the update
Go to settings on the world or on the main menu
go to audio and turn up sound
if music is not working:

download the music pack by Minecraft. And run it on a world and music should work
