Yes, the world has been updated from previous versions. The world was made in version 1.20 and has been updated through major versions and pre-releases.

The seed of the world is 64793995. When generating a new version of this world, sulfur caves do generate.

The does not happen on any of the snapshots prior (Pre-release 2 and before)
