I think this might work as intetional as endermites are hostile mobs and switching to peacefull deletes hostile mobs. You should try to keep from turning to peaceful as much as possible.

This issue happend when I joined my friends mutiplayer world today for some reason my player data got deleted including all my items,pet ownerships, and enderchest data as well. We were both playing on switch. This also happend to my other friend playing on the world at the same time.I also joined this world the day prior. Please fix this issue it is critical.
