Hello, I've been watching and waiting for a bug fix patiently... I was remaining silent thinking it would be fixed soon. But it's not. Just wanted finally to add an extra voice and say that I am in the same situation. Bought minecraft 0.11.1 for my boy, it was supposed to work on his ipad first generation running ios 5.1.1. As you all know, it doesn't and just freezes on the splash screen. I hope Mojang will fix this sooner than later.
