Minecraft bedrock saves are broken on xbox one, I lost 6 months of building and hundreds of hours of work. You must NEVER reset your xbox one and NEVER move to another xbox as most saved games on bedrock DO NOT sync, and to make this worse you CAN NOT move or transfer yours saves to an external hard drive. I have written a bug report on this but I'm guessing moyang wont fix this and this issue is only going to grow as consoles get older and people migrate to newer machines, without their saves. I'm still incredibly annoyed and I have lost the will to do anything in this game as this is a game breaker. Nothing is safe which is stupid for a game not to be able to protect your saved games.
My bug trackers here :-

The only reason I relate this issue to the transfer bug is the reason of files sizes, its a bit of an odd coincidence that these are very similar. but putting that aside, wouldn't storing the save world files to the same location as the game ( like other games) be the way to go, I add this because bedrock is the only game that I can see my saved games on the internal HD, which I find odd, as nothing else does this, and knowing that bedrock saves files to a different location other than the location of the game might cause issues(not saying that is the problem),but most people and games have everything neatly in one location.
I thank you for your time trying to resolve this issue, and I think that I wont be alone in having this issue, more will follow, after all how many people reset the console (as I had to) or have to use a new console, and all these people will be losing saved games, permanently,
I know Microsoft are also looking into this as I'm also talking to them about their cloud storage and the loss/non backing up of my bedrock saves
All I can add is that the problem I'm having with Bedrock not saving the larger world saves to the cloud is not because of the amount of space allocated to the cloud by Microsoft, the reason I know this is that I have many many more worlds and larger ones saved to the cloud successfully on the minecraft console edition, I have lost none of them, and yet I'm down to only 21 saved small world saves to the cloud on Bedrock, clearly I'm not reaching a limit on space.
I still find it odd that it seams to only effect larger world saves in much the same way bedrock had the same problem with transferring larger world saves from console edition, its a bit of a coincidence that these files sizes are similar, and could be a failing in the bedrock code.
This looks like a similar Game breaking bug I have encountered.

This is quite a serious problem, and has stopped me working on any of what is left of my world saves that I have transferred over from console edition. I lost 7 months of work in bedrock because it doesn't save larger game saves to the cloud. AND there is NO WAY to back up your saves. I lost so much.
Hello.
In answer to your questions
1. I do wait to see if the sync takes place and have noticed that it never takes very long, and i also makes sure i give it a little time before turning off my xbox.
2. My xbox is plugged into a power strip but it like all my devices all have seperate switches so can be turned off seperately from each other. i always wait for the external HD light to stop for about a minute before switching the xbox off from the socket. this i do no matter what,as turning off during a write cycle is never a good idea with a hard drive.
3. If my console is left powered it is only for a maximum of 5 mins, otherwise i turn it off.
4. the sync process on all games loading from the cloud is generally noticeable, and with some games can last for as long as 10 mins, but Bedrock on xbox one has never taken more than about 10 seconds, unlike Console edition on xbox one which has taken about 10 mins. more on this in the next question.
5.Yes, quite a few games have created large save files (like my modded fallout 4). but one interesting fact a number of my saved worlds on Xbox one console edition, which are of a large file size, have not had trouble reloading from the cloud, but these same world saves that have been transfered over to xbox one Bedrock edition clearly have not been saved to the cloud, The way i tested this was to have both versions of minecraft (console edition and bedrock) running on my Xbox one x, and about 20 of my large very large world saves have been converted into bedrock edition and have had extensive work done to them in both versions. but on starting up my original xbox one (which i stopped using when i got the xbox one x scorpio,on day of release) all my world saves in Console edition were restored from them cloud, BUT bedrock edition had most of my world saves missing, so clearly the bedrock edition is not backing up larger saves to cloud.
I can't see why the saved games would be effected if they are stored in the same location as the games themselves, after all, ALL of my games (ALL of them) are on my External HD, I only have Netflix and my bedrock saved worlds(the ones it wants to save) on my Interal HD, and syncing saves hasn't effect any of my other 100+ games on my external HD.
I have tried saving newer larger world saves on bedrock on the xbox one x then going back over to the older original xbox one Bedrock, but the saves i had just done do not show up, even after leaving it for long lengths of time.
UPDATE-
my current version of minecraft is 1.2.13.60
and is the same version I'm running on both my original xbox one and my xbox one x scorpio. all my larger worlds which have disappeared and were not backed up to the cloud, have not turned up on either xbox, so cloud saves of 70-80mb or higher don't happen. Also I can still find no way of transferring my saves from inernal HD to the external HD, or having a copy on both. annoying. looks as though there is still no way of protecting your world saves In the event of moving minecraft bedrock to a new xbox or even resetting your console, as I had to do (wish I hadn't) and lastly. large world saves to the cloud do work on console edition and oddly this file size of 70-80mb not being cloud saved is similar to the transfer worlds issue when Bedrock came out as my worlds of the same size wouldn't transfer, could this be a similar problem? I will keep checking on my older xbox to see if my current worlds are being saved to the cloud but I guess I'm going to have to wait for a fix before that happens. Until then I will be suspending building in minecraft as I don't want to lose more work, six months lost is bad enough.
Sorry not 1.2.16.3, it has effected all versions up to the current version of bedrock on xbox one. I have no idea if this effects other platforms as I only play on the xbox. a fix to allow transferring to other locations ie external HD would be a start, as this would allow me and others to atleast start playing survival again as I'm not going to risk losing everthing again, which will happen again,as there is no backup facility.
I Have noticed a huge flaw in the bedrock saves.
I have lost all my worlds over 70mbs on the Xbox one bedrock edition.
My minecraft Bedrock is stored on the External hard drive, like all of my games, but what I didn't realise is that the saved worlds are all saved on the Internal hard drive, and cannot be moved from this location, I had to do a factory reset on my xbox one x not knowing that my saved games are NOT stored with the game. this deleted my worlds. And all saves over 70mb-80mb DO NOT get saved to the cloud (this only effects minecraft Bedrock edition) so 61 of my 82 saved games (all of my best huge worlds) are gone, for good.
I WILL NOT PLAY THIS VERSION now as I know NONE of my worlds when saved that are too big or have too much done to them and go over the file limit are safe, and cannot be transferred copied or backed up. This is a Major flaw and more people are going to get annoyed and disgusted by this bug. Please fix this and allow us to move, transfer saves and ultimately save to the cloud all our saved games, even over the 70-80mb limit (also isn't it odd that this is also around the same file size that prevented transferring worlds from console edition to bedrock?)
Someone at mojang please respond to this so that I know that someone is looking into it, Your mojang support is useless and just blames this solely on Microsoft in a cut and paste response, poor show.
oh and none of my other games are effected by this cloud save problem or moving of saves from internal to external hard drives, and some of those files are a lot bigger than minecrafts saves.
From the 1.13 update up to the latest update I concur that Minecraft crashes (xbox one x) and can only be re-entered by going back to the home screen on the xbox then quitting Minecraft before restarting. this is a very annoying bug and has happened to me 8 times so far since the release of 1.13 and twice since the fix update as of the 12th of November. oh and it crashes anywhere from just after loading, until up to at least an hour of play.
