I'm still having the problem too, the launcher keeps saying "unable to update minecraft runtime environment" , the only solution for me is to dl the alternative launcher which is for me a short term solution. Petr said he reverted the launcher back, am I the only one for who the launcher in .msi always indicates an error ?
