Thank god this is a bug, I thought I just had the worst seed ever! Thing is I'm already fairly established in my new world and I have found plenty of empty spawners, tempted to restart but I don't wanna have to do it all again!
I saw this today for the first time, when I saw it out of the corner of my eye on the edge of the screen I panicked and thought I'd set something alight. (Bad timing, I had a flint and steel in my hand.)
