I was afraid of that. It doesn't dump a crash report if I do that after the crash - which makes sense.
I did a crash report from my game pre-crash. Is there some other way to get a debug log out of the game?
Did that, where does the crash dump go? I looked in <user>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft but I see nothing there that looks like a crash dump.
FYI, eventually Windows tells me:

I updated java and deleted the resources directory, and now everything is fine. Thanks.
