I have this identical bug as described. Referencing the older bug, windowed or full screen irrelevant.
Running linux kernel 5.02
KDE 5 Plasma with Nvidia 430 driver/module
Running Java 12
Game was fine until 1.14 upgrade. Barely playable now. Keep dying around hazardous environs. Hope this can be resolved soon

The bug has not appeared yet in an hour of play on a new world generated with the above snapshot
Just FYI, I have never played Minecraft in the windowed mode, always in full screen.
