I won't go through that because I sort of solved the issue. Looks like trying to launch a snapshot using files from previous versions (1.7.x and snapshot instances share the same folder, so some data is shared like block models and others as such), it tries to read files that don't exist, or didn't in previous versions.. I'm guessing something related with file names or something of sorts..
So, a bit more accurately, to repeat this bug, try executing a snapshot from an instance that contains 1.7.x files
