thanks for addressing my report, I think that it is a bug though, because there are way too many spawning than seems normal. It makes the game almost unplayable.
I have the same issue. I keep getting attacked and they are way to over powered. This is a valid bug and it needs to be looked at ASAP!!
The screenshot I added only showed about 5 phantoms, but I usually get 30-40 attacking me all at once. One time I was by this ravine at night, and I was ready to get my water bucket out to go down there, when all of the sudden I just start flying down there because one of these bird things hit me and I was lucky I had my water bucket in my hot bar because I just put water down last second so I didn't die from falling all the way down there. Then I had to fight off a bunch of zombies and skeletons and stuff and even a slime had spawned and was attacking me. It's a good thing I'm such a pro, or I would have died and lost all of my stuff and its just cause mojang added an over powered mob.
