The real bug is that the game doesn't know how to calculate where to place the nether portal on the nether side. The bug has been in the game since nether portals were added. It's a very simple math formula of (Overworld coordinates divided by 8) and yet the game always seems to screw it up. Is there an open bug that words it in such a way that you can't say it's "intended"? This bug has caused me a lot of frustration over the years. People thinking that the nether-side portal is theirs and they get mad at me when it takes them back to my wife's house. And my wife gets upset because someone has vandalized her house! Sorry for the rant, but can you tell how frustrated I am? I just want to make sure there is an open bug report so we can get it fixed after all these years.
Are you sure it wasn't bedrock edition? Because I have had that issue on that version.
This is an issue in 1.14.4 Do we reopen this one or make a new one?
