MC-259790 /damage can provide fewer variables to death message than expected, printing unformatted message Confirmed

As someone who has knowledge about archiving versions and a bit of Minecraft's history, I believe that the "Cave game tech test" build wasn't backed up to a .jar, since the code of that version is probably lost, and the "old_alpha rd-132211" is simply a recompiled .jar from source code, and it was added in 2013 along with other pre-Classic builds.

Updated it due to ugly format XD

Who duplicated my bug report?

I know, but the weird thing is that the first entity/player in the message should output the player's username, however, it doesn't do that.

The second one might always display those "variable markers", most likely because it was triggered by a command, not another player/entity/projectile.

I said that the symbols will print if no "by" argument is used.

Btw: Thanks for the feedback!

Maybe that's due to internet problems. Try to reconnect to a stronger internet.

@LakeJason

The message output for that would be "[player] was pummeled by [player/entity]"

I think that exact message didn't load properly.

I think this is intentional.

If you look at the wiki for "Painting", you can see that the original names are both "de_aztec". (though this might be misinformation)

Maybe the two paintings can be renamed to two different "de_aztecs" if Kristoffer decides to rename them.

That's not how /damage works.

You should input it like this:

/damage  [your username] [damage amount]

Extended:

/damage  [your username][damage amount][at/by]at:~ ~ ~
