MCPE-34820 Disabling Texel Anti-aliasing on Minecraft Bedrock (Switch Version) Causes Severe Visual Bugs Cannot Reproduce

Comments

Also noticed this bug when in a cave with hostile mobs attempted to pathfind to me, in a world upgraded from 21w38a. Pathfinding itself seems fine. Tested again in a superflat world created in 21w39a and the glitch still occurs. Affected mobs include just about all passive mobs that follow the player using breeding items (as far as I can tell) as well as Creepers, Spiders, Ravagers, and most illagers. Goats don't do this even when a player is holding Wheat. Zombies (incl. Zombified Piglins) and Skeletons don't exhibit this bug either, even though they seek out the player. Hoglins and Piglins also don't seem to experience the bug. Tried to check Endermen, but their shaking when enraged makes it impossible to tell.

Yes, this issue does happen after toggling the setting again. Restarting the game again with texel anti-aliasing on causes the glitch to still occur, but restarting the game with the setting off seems to be a workaround (it allows the graphics to function normally). Once the bug has been worked around, texel anti-aliasing can be freely toggled with no ill effects. The bug will not occur, so long as texel anti-aliasing is left off when the game is closed; if the setting is on, though, the bug will occur when the anti-aliasing is next disabled. An important distinction I forgot to make initially is that this bug happens both in docked and undocked mode as well.
