Beta version did not resolve my issues but changing to OpenDNS did. 

Pinging authserver.mojang.com [143.204.27.67] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 143.204.27.67:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 566ms, Maximum = 584ms, Average = 572ms

It should be noted that I am on a satellite internet connection. 

Switched to Beta version and still no connection. 

Adding myself to the list. And another log file in case it helps.
