Same thing happened to me but slightly different. I press f11 to go to fullscreen normally but when i press f11 again the screen turns black. You can still click stuff but cant see. I resolved it by closing my netbook then opening it again.
Try to re download the launcher

That's probably cause there drowning, but I could be wrong.
