Turns out this isnt a glitch or bug. In order to play the game with another person you have to go to the settings (on ios not sure how android works) click on minecraft then turn on the setting labeled “local network”. This needs to be turned on both devices or else you will not be able to connect.

My gamer profile does appear. Not sure about that issue

We are both playing on iPad Air 2’s. We usually connect together via the same network/wifi/lan. We are also both signed into the our own Microsoft accounts. Yes we have access to the market place and servers. We can play with each other on servers but we cant join each others worlds. Another thing to note about this bug is that 2 years ago we were able to play together without Having to be signed into our account because we were on the same wifi. But then when the bug first appeared the only way way could play was by signing into our account and sending each other friend requests. Now neither way works. Sometimes after a bug update happens we can play when signed in but sometimes the next day after the bug update it no longer works again until the next update.

This is very annoying, i too lost two horses and a donkey. All where leashed down before leaving the game.

What do you mean? Also are you a developer or just a random person?

Are you able to play with friends because i am unable to play with my brother who is literally sitting next to me.
