I was having the same problem while in the End dimension. I saved my spawn point next to the End Portal then I could not get to the Overworld as I instantly died from fall damage and respawned in the End dimension right away. My work around to get out of the End dimension was joining my world using another device to break my bed next to the end portal then I was able to get back to the Overworld. Hope this helps and hope Mojang fix it soon as it is really frustrating.
