Nick,
It seems to work for me. I had the nVidia Geforce GT540M disabled, then I enabled it and the game still works. Hopefully it stays that way after I reboot my PC 😉
<I cannot reboot in next 2 days as I am running a quite complicated data analysis on the background>
Dear Moderator, dear Mojang dev crew,
Installing Geforce Experience won't solve the issue. As many have pointed out, these are the latest drivers that are installed and MC still does not work.
If you believe that this is a problem to be solvez by nVidia then perhaps you should contact them and let your customers (that would be us here) know how the process is going forward. At the moment it's your brand name that is taking damage. I suppose that a bug reporting site would not become a discussion forum if you would post status updates here.

Disabling the nVidia adapter works. Naturally it would be nicer to use the faster and better GPU, but the Intel HD Graphics works pretty well for Minecraft. Good workaround ZhangYu! Hopefully Mojang (or nVidia) will be able to fix the problem soon.
Exactly the same as above: six or so seconds of the Mojang splash screen and then back to the desktop. All drivers updated, game uninstalled and reinstalled several times. The game went to this state after the upgrade (0.13.0). It works fine on all my other Win10 machines, but not on my ASUS all-in-one (laptop motherboard and circuitry) with nVidia Geforce GT 540M chip. All drivers updated (inc. graphics, sound and network), all updates installed (Win10).
Annoying this is. Solution to this must we find.

With reference to my last comment: After a typical Win10 crash (sound card drivers) I was forced to reboot. Result: Not working anymore (unless I disable the nVidia GeForce GT540M).
