(also, i must say thank you for the driver advice, i truly thought i was up to date, i had just run an update before posting this bug in an attempt to check all my own boxes first)

i am referring to the textures during movement. i am seeing (in the further distances moreso) oval shaped pixelated ringlets across large areas or what looks like a heat haze/mirage. my monitor is clean and undamaged. it just seems like a weird sort of stuttering/squiggling, as if the world generation has had too much caffeine. i am currently investigating further, i may be able to provide a screen recording. I have also taken a break and come back to look at it again with fresh eyes- It is still very noticeable. I also dont think it is screen tearing. regardless, it is distracting.
this was not at all occurring in any of my 1.15 worlds on any versions or servers including realms, no. it became very noticeable just today, immediately upon loading 1.16 in a world for the first time.
Using version 1.11.2 the 'Save and Quit to Title' always states 'Not Responding' after a Open to LAN game. The machine that joins the LAN game is able to gracefull quit first but when the machine that opened to LAN quits we always get Not responding / greyed out window.

Hope this helps solve what seems like an excessively long remediation for a very frustrating problem.
Problem still present with 1.17.2.01 under Android 11.
Thanks for your answer.
I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you mean with
When looking at the app permission I can give these two
Contacts
Storage
Storage has already been granted, contacts not.
So assuming you mean Storage I already played around with that. W/o storage the MC cannot sign into Microsoft account.
Currently it's a fresh installation of the MC app and storage permission has been granted before first starting it.

still there is 1.14.4
So you "fixed" the bug you introduced in 1.7 hosing anyone who started a world in 1.8. This change fouled up my whole world.
getting this error in cmd
using the said code. do i need a special version of Java?
i couldn't add the error in the description, it was too long. my start command is that from the wiki:
in a bat file. i have no clue where i should add the -Xss1M.
