So far this recent update appears to have fixed my problem as well!

As I've said my world isn't the smallest but is definitely smaller than 900mb. The world I'm having issues with is 572.1mb.

I just loaded up my world and everything appears to be fine now. I even ventured in to newly generated chunks and have had no issues.

 

Edit: After saving and quitting, the world once again won't load.

I've been able to play on my world all the way from 1.16 up to 1.17.41 with no issue until this update. My world size stayed the same at 572.1mb, so I don't believe there was a significant change in world size after updating to 1.18.0.

My world is less than 600mb and still had this problem.
