I don't think this is a solution, as i did it myself using nbtexplorer annd for my hut it did not do anything, so I won't say it works as intended... please make a real fix on this as its a pretty important bug that affects a lot of people in their survivals, for example I've stopped playing mine for a month as I need tons of redstone that I cant get, please fix this, an ACTUAL fix

I build a witch farm in 1.8 release, and it started spawning all kiind of mobs, then i researched and I so this, so I thought it was ok, but not i has just stop spawning ANNY kind of mob. It's in total darkness, and the surface is made of hoppers, and it dont spawn any mob, i checked game difficulty even gamerule domobspawning, but it dont spawn anything at all, i used a copy of the world to fix it, but i thought that this bug may fit in here
