I have the same issue. I've just discovered it, while playing in 1.6.4, but It persists in 1.8.7
In addition to the already stated problem. The game recieves no input from other keys if left is pressed. And the actions of keys that were being pressed before pressing a to go left continue. The issue persists in online, where tab actually performs a function and offline, where it appears tab does nothing but disable pressing left. But as a key combination, disables everything and continues action that were already happening, even if a key is released.
it literally shutdown, no crash report was created
please note to test the issue. tab should be hit before attempting to move left.
