they can teleport inside chests, water and even the block the minecart is on

It is still broken in 1.20.12
They even teleport onto trapdoors, buttons, rails and other redstone components

It is really annoying

This isn't a hardware limitation, I have always been able to do this before 1.20 so it's your issue, nothing to do with my device.
