that's not the problem, the problem is the inconvience
Same problem for me and my two brothers too.....we are lost without chests...
It's no problem...just put you ladder on the opposite side that the door opens.
You can place chests under stairs and they still open, it's a tactical way to place them on top of each other and reduce space usage.
I didn't even really build anything except placing signs...which takes a lot of resource in survival.... I placed about a hundred and they were all gone... Makes me mad...
The same thing is happening to me!
It's a major bug by now
