I just had a similar issue, I'm playing creative (version 1.20.4) and I was mass purging my inventory (dropping on the ground) so I was repeatedly pressing A and Y back to back, accidentally pressed B doing this and now in the bottom left it says Y B A and X are unassigned, I imagine resetting minecraft fixes it but wanted to say it hasnt been resolved yet. I think its an error regarding inventory input processing after closing the inventory
