Just to clarify this issue was never about a rendering/crash issue. It was the client disconnecting itself (and any connected LAN players) more or less immediately upon minimizing. Microsoft itself offers strategies to deal with this (sometimes desirable in a not LAN capable game) behavior at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/launch-resume/run-minimized-with-extended-execution.
As reported in other linked and closed as duplicate tickets this also causes Windows 10 Fullscreen clients connected to a Bedrock Dedicated Server (BDS) to disconnect when Alt-Tabbing out to quickly check messages. Very frustrating.
