i am seeing ghosting as well, I wonder if this glitch is what is allowing players not on the white list to join occasionally?

& the fireball just stuck, the ghast shot at a player and it froze in midair. no one was kicked, they said there was no lag at that time it just froze

oh, 🙂 it was a new world created @ 1.8 pre-release 3 after our old world was corrupted.

not for that specific glitch but we are having a terrible time with memory leaks, that was just the one instance i was able to catch. i turned off watchdog already. i mention that glitch with the fireball as it was one cause of our memory runaways. it seems there are other glitches/stuck items out there perhaps causing the leak? restarting the server did not clear up that fireball btw, only getting up there and killing it.

having the same issue, we lost one world completely started a fresh world and the memory leak started again. I was able to locate a glitched fireball, destroy it (was suspended in air) and the ram returned to normal. I am wondering if these glitches are happening and no one is there to report it, is that the cause of the memory leak & is there anything to help. Centos 6, Java 1.7.0_65 64 bit. all vanilla no mods whatsoever & don't want to lose another world - thanks

i had to change my scheduled restart to 'when no one is on' until this is resolved and sneak in a few manual reboots when i can.

Agreed. My entire world was corrupted today, server began using more and more ram, soon chunk errors slowly spread across the entire area. Backups failed to load & we started fresh. Glad we are a small group & bounce well. This release is still pretty unstable.

we were trying a few things and it seems this player logged in as if in spectator mode without us changing her to it or back again... it hasn't happened since but was interesting for a bit 🙂 thanks all

exactly only we keep getting it. we hadn't experienced this much block lag or any desyncs until the pre-releases. Wondering if there is anything I can do to ease things or if it is just one of those things 🙂 thanks all!

in this one the player had not been kicked, just connected. there was a welcome message from the server but they weren't 'solid' when they logged on. they were showing in tab and on the console just could fly through every block and had off/on xray vision. i had the player logout, the server displayed the 'player left' and when they reconnected they were fine. another difference was this player was in creative where the other instances were in survival. Thanks 🙂

the players seems to be doing different things when they get kicked (no console message) and, upon reconnecting from their view point, become ghosts. I had one player log back out and wait, after a few minutes the server gave a 'player left' message and they were able to reconnect normally. it was almost as if it never processed the player leaving, allowed the player to reconnect but neither was processed completely.

this is a problem for us as well, running 1.8 pre-release 3, the shutdown will hang if players are still connected at 'saving players....'... please fix, pretty please 🙂
