i checked my game files (on a macbook) . and found my old worlds still saved. after erasing them. logging back into my account. minecraft launcher worked perfectly.
if your also on mac. go to finder --> at the top right click "go", hold alt button key. click library. go to application support --> erase the minecraft folder. erase all dmgs, applications etc. and reinstall it all, also from trash. then reinstall it all. and if it doesnt work. i dont know what to do. hope this helps
