Confirm this issue with windows 10.
I don't use the /J argument however with simlink because my link is on a network location, accessed by my 2 different computers. I did this to avoid copying my saves from my PC to my Laptop. Was working fine with 1.12 till these snapshots.
EDIT
This still happens with PRE6. Very annoying bug. Here is a snip of the crash in the launcher. Maybe someone can find a workaround solution?
The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.nio.file.FileAlreadyExistsException:
C:\.minecraft\saves
I can confirm this for 1.9. The odd thing is I did not have this problem in any of the 1.8 versions. Now my villager sorting system is half broken until this is fixed. (The villagers do eventually go down the track, but it's very annoying to have to wait sometimes minutes for them to arrive instead of the 5 seconds it's supposed to be)
I can confirm this still happens in 1.8.8. I was very upset after just collecting my items from the bottom of the ocean to pull into my boat dock and get killed the second the boat hit the slabs it rests on to "park". However I was in deep water most of the time, so not sure why this happened.

OK I did a test. I can confirm Anomie X's explanation to this issue. I went into shallow water (1 block of water) and bobbed up and down for a few minutes, then tried to "dock" on some slabs and almost got killed. I repeated this test in deep water and no damage at all.
Confirm this also happens on Windows computers. This is a HUGE problem if you normally hit ESC to cancel something.
I had no idea this was a problem, and would be quite upset if i had hit ESC and it converted my world and broke it.
Totally agree this really needs to be fixed and IS NOT working as I would expect it to.
