Okay I have logged on today after yesterday's update and all my lag issues have cleared up. Even though the patch notes mention nothing about this problem, it is fixed for me. I note I have not played for a few days, realm owner updated the world as required with new update and all of a sudden it works. I repeat I did absolutely nothing to fix this myself. 

Okay they haven't even acknowledged this problem with a response. If I wasn't the one paying for the laggy realm I would cancel it instantly. The support from mojang it's incredibly unsatisfactory for a paid service.
