This also has happened on my survival world on Switch (pure vanilla, no extras).  They should all be Librarians, but instead show as having no job.  They are also all named.

Is there an update or anything on this? Or... is work being done with it? Just trying to decide what to tell my kids - sit tight, it'll get fixed.. or, just start a fresh new world, the old one is permanently broken. 🙂

Either way, we appreciate you all & everything you do to make this game what it is!! <3

Tried my usual world today.. still freezes.

Created a brand new world of the same seed, and all was perfect. No freezing, no bizarre lag.

I then created a copy of my original world (hoping maybe a "fresh start" of an existing world would make a difference... but it didn't.

(Not sure what other info would be helpful for the techs...)

Reinstalling the game will correct the Marketplace/Invalid Session issue, but not the freezing. :-/

Just to rule out wifi/router/internet, took console completely off network & attempted offline play, but the same things happened.

My game freezes more than its playable. From the moment my world first comes on screen to the first time I get sound & (mostly) rendered chunks, its 2 minutes & 16 seconds (just timed it). I will then get 30 seconds of normal(ish) gameolay, but then it freezes for 20-30+ seconds. From that point on, it literally gives me 1 or 2 seconds of play and then freezes for ~30+ seconds again. I have to be hovered & waitimg over the + button in order to properly logout.

Software restarts & console power cycle did not help. I did a fresh install (delete software & redownload from eShop), and while that fixed the Marketplace issue I wasn't having, it did not change the gameplay issues at all.

Attaching photos of what was rendered after the 2+ minutes...

EDIT: adding that the save file is 140mb

I did a fresh install (delete software & redownload from eShop), and that corrected the Marketplace issue, but gameplay is still awful. From the moment my world first came on screen to when it was fully rendered AND had sound, it was 2 minutes & 16 seconds... and then I got every sound that should have happened in that time played all at once. I had 25 seconds of normal gameplay (good sound, no freezing), and then the freezing started again. 30+ seconds frozen, 1.. maybe 2 seconds of not frozen. I have to be locked & loaded, hovering over & ready to push the + button, in order to properly logout.

A fresh install (delete software & redownload from eShop) has allowed me to access the Marketplace, AND all of my character "dressing room" options load - including the thumbnail images.

The fresh install did NOT correct the awful-to-nonexistant chunk/sound loading/rendering & the game is still freezing & unplayable, but that's a different ticket.

Software restart & system power cycle have not helped. I am currently attempting a software reinstall....

Also having this problem on the Switch. Clicking the Marketplace button on the splash screen makes noise, but does not do anything. I can select Play, and that goes to the next screen, but Marketplace is greyed out, and an error pops up if I try to select it - attached.

I get the same error & have attached a screenshot of it. I have not attempted a fresh install yet, but will do that now...

I am also unable to access the Marketplace on my Switch, and get the "invalid session" error.

I am also on the Switch, and ever since the 1.18.3 update, the game freezes every 1-3 seconds and stays frozen for 20-30 seconds.  Most times, the non-frozen window is so short, I can't click anything on the hotbar.  Last night, I got about a 5 second window & was able to click the button to sign out.. that's when I noticed the Marketplace button was greyed out.  When I hovered over it, it said "invalid session - please try restarting the game".  I have restarted the game nearly a dozen times, and have power cycled the Switch no fewer than 5 times, and it has not corrected anything.

The only way to close the game is to push the HOME button & close it from the main screen... and when I do, I get a long "thinking" time, and then I usually get an error code saying "the software has closed due to an error".

I tried signing out of my Microsoft account to see if that would help.. I got about 30 seconds of half rendered time, and then it froze.

Also, anytime it comes out of a "freeze", I get every sound that happened in that frozen 20-30 seconds, all at once. While initially humorous, I'm over the novelty of it & am ready for it to stop.

Willing & able to troubleshoot, if needed.
