I can confirm this in Windows 8.1 x64 in Vanilla 1.7.2 SMP. This can be replicated with the following steps: 1.) Unplug network adapter by any means. Keep it unplugged until the server kicks you with an io.netty error. 2.) Immediately replug adapter and reconnect to server. 3.) Once logged in, kill the ghost copy of you any way you want. 4.)
