it would be nice if someone from mojang/microsoft could at least confirm this bug.
there is a bug report for this from 29/Oct/12 and no reaction from LWJGL too.
is this the way this will end by just ignoring it?
is there another game that uses LWJGL so we can check this is a BUG there?
a lot of games unload calibrations but reset is back to normal after the game exist. most of them do this in full screen.
still an issue with 1.8.1 and no reaction at the LWJGL bug tracker at all.
i'm able to reproduce this with a 2 displays setup 1 amd and 1 intel igpu. looks like this bug is limited to multi monitor setup. only minecraft unloads the calibration after exit/crash no software i use does the same.
i just check this without a dual monitor setup. the bug didn't trigger.
i can later check the amd systtem with 2 displays but i have to set this up first, so we know this is an dual display issue and not a nvidia only issue.
i downgraded from 337.50 beta to 335.23 WHQL. minecraft still unloads calibrations after first exit.
it should be easy to reproduce:
win + r -> colorcpl -> enter -> Devices -> choice the right active Device -> check "use my settings for this device" -> Add... (choice a profile with an huge effect on the monitor colors like the "asus vg248 2014-05-07 D6500 Rec. 709 S XYZLUT+MTX.icm" to make the effect as obvious as possible) -> set as default
restart
run and close minecraft.
this is not the same way i normaly do it but this doesn't need extra software like DispcalGUI. i double checked this bug with Windows loader too.
there is a very huge bug in Window 7 preventing from loading ICM calibrations, they don't have an effect. a workaround is to one time run the "Calibrate display" function in color management -> advanced
i will double check this bug later on a different PC with a amd r9 270 gpu.
edit: i can't reproduce this bug with my amd r9 270.
done. bug was triggered too, monitor calibration wasn't active anymore.

a simple monitor calibration "file"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_management
"Operating system level
Since 1997 color management in Windows is handled at the OS level through an ICC color management system. Beginning with Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced a new color architecture known as Windows Color System.[8] WCS supplements the Image Color Management (ICM) system in Windows 2000 and Windows XP, originally written by Heidelberg.[9][10]"
the unloaded "file" in this case is an icm file.
1.12.2 triggers the issue
17w43b doesn't unload the calibration so it got fixed
