I have similar issues. I'm fully updated. Entire chunks are slow to load, sometimes even just mining a block will not update the block for several seconds, sometimes up to 30 seconds or a minute. I will mine a block, and I still see it, but I can walk through it. I place a block, and I see the outline when my cursor is over it, but there is no texture and I can see through it.
Sometimes the game freezes completely but seemingly the events are still happening. I was exploring a cave 2 days ago when the game froze for 30 seconds, and when it resumed there was a cacophony of hit damage and explosion sounds and it said I died to a creeper, as if during the freeze all these events are happening and just being queued by the UI while I'm unable to do anything.
This is on the digital download for switch. It all started with 1.18 and never got better.
This happens often to us as well.
