I have the same setup but with a blast furnace. it goes hopper in to a double chest in to a hopper then in to a blast furnaces then a hopper removing items in to a double cheat. it was working before I updated to 1.16.200 and then it stopped. I have a similar designed one in the same world that works. photos will be attached they have been remade in a creative world so you can see them better
[media]the one on the left does not work smelts gold swords one on the right works smelts kelp. I hope this can help
it might be trying to link the portals to the highest one on the y axes in the nether. will try that out and see what happens
