I am currently having this issue. I have updated to 1.14.2 with a new world and with my old previous 1.14 world and all villagers in any visited village walled off, unwalled off, or villagers locked in lit houses have despawned. I also died and lost all equipment before the 5 minute limit, when I was less than 10 blocks away. Used the xray and watched it disappear as i mined to 5 blocks away.
