I'm also noticing this issue. I don't have a problem with other mobs as the "duplicate" defect is talking about, only my villagers. I started out with over 20, lose all but two, build them back up then run away so that there's no way possible that there's anything causing them to die and they're still despawning. I hope this gets fixed asap bc there's so much I want to do with villagers but right now there's no point.
