heya, not an admin, this is probally because ghast fireballs explode, causing your items to also explode, which removes the item. if you can, try and place a platform that is blast resistant, and hold a shield (or dodge the fireball) to prevent your items from being killed, and preventing you from falling. i am giving advice because i am a player, not an admin. hope this helps!
