Can confirm. Just tried this for myself the paintings have no texture but can be destroyed after being placed.
Are you playing single player or multiplayer? If you're playing on single player WiFi should not be a factor in the game crashing. Have you tried restarting the game or your device? Is your device updated? Are you running the game on a older device?
Game crashes could be caused by a variety of problems. I would try restarting the game and your device and if that doesn't work update your device if possible.
Cloudflare is blocking your connection.
If you still have this problem try clearing your browser cache / reinstalling your browser. If that still doesn't work try using a different IP address to connect.
