This is a very annoying issue and should be fixed. I'm not aware of any games released in the last 20 years that arbitrarily hard-maps a single key. Except Minecraft, of course.

Same problem on Windows 10 version. I have a custom skin and every time I start Minecraft, this skin is replaced by the last store-skin I've selected.
