Voted for this bug. My server has many players reporting issues just like this, and I'm affected the worst having built a village in the Nether. I dread leaving a range of my village that would put it outside of the loaded chunks zone. I can AFK in there for a whole 8 hour workday and all my villagers will be fine, but if I pop out to the overworld for 30 minutes and come back I can lose anywhere between 1 and 6 villagers.
