no, the minecart reaches the end of the rail line and reverses direction.
i tried setting the render distance to its max and worked my way back to lower render distances. i found that i have to have the render distance set to 31 or 32 for the minecart to operate like it should.
unfortunately, in my case, the game becomes un-enjoy-able at those settings.
i have no idea if the minecart is within render distance.
i have guessed at values to use 12, 16 and 24 are render distances i have tried. the render distance was set at 12 prior to my changing it. none of the values i tried resolved the issue.
the phrase 'render distance' makes it sound like i want to see something within that 'render distance' or i want to have loaded into memory some number of chunks of 'the world'... it seems to conflict with my thinking that crops grow out of render distance and minecarts do not work out of render distance...
i know the length of the rail (straight / east / west) and i think a chunk is 16x16x256. if both are in blocks i guess i can guess how many chunks i might try to load to see if this fixes the problem.
Nevertheless, with render distance set at 12 and standing at the rail mid point the minecart travels end to end (round trip) with no problems. when the render distance is doubled, 24, and standing at the end of the rail then the minecart will not make the round trip.
i new here and am sorry that i posted this because i did not find a hit in my searching that matched my problem. i do not agree with the minecart working as intended and feel that the minecart should work if i am one block away or ten million blocks away - i put the minecart there and its chunk should stay loaded and it should work. so, now, i have more than a few email about closed and today i see reopened. just close it or delete it already. sorry neko, like i said i am new here - 'private'ing this already reported issue. i should have known better than post anything here and should have know someone already posted about it.
