main issue: mine carts with chests and to some extent hoppers and dispensers from what I can tell are not updating properly and seemingly falling back on old information when I walk a sufficient distance away or quit and come back. At this point it's only duplicated a bunch of eggs and ate a few mine carts with maybe a couple eggs in them. Not sure if the problems are with the setup or the devices in general though so I don't know if mine carts with chests are safe to use.
side issue i mentioned because it's related to the same farm setup: large amounts of chickens are respawning after death. Sometimes I'll kill out the box and come back and see 5 walking around in it. Sometimes it completely full of chickens. mind you the power is ripped out of the top and the mine cart is pulled off the track when this happens
Been using them in tandem as well. No problems here, but I can't say I trust the shulker chests enough to throw anything good in them thou. Been burned too often by old backpack mods.
oh and I've also had the chest reappear once after I broke it off the track. It was half full of eggs when it reappeared which shouldn't have been the case as I emptied out the eggs from the hoppers and chests prior and it wasn't moving to collect eggs anyways
